50.2 - We will be remembered by the trails we leave.

Your home should be a living space and not a storage space. Before us lies two paths, which will determine the future landscape of our planet. On the path of scarcity we must frantically attempt to fill our basket, with as many possessions as possible. In the end while our basket is full, we feel nothing but profound emptiness inside us. When the credit card bills arrive and the things start to break, the possessions we collected first to make our lives better, change their meaning and begin to possess us, instead of us possessing them. The hoarder’s path create a death spiral of scarcity, as we never seem to have enough. Our echoing cries of scarcity create ripples of fear and contribute to a cycle of poverty in other communities. For in order to fill our basket, we have taken from others what they needed for their survival.

The path of abundance is not as wide, but it is not necessary to leave a path of destruction in our wake, in order to have enough. On this minimalist path we are selective, we take our time and we only place in our basket only what is truly necessary or truly treasured. This path is uncluttered and allows for creative space all around us to explore. Inside our hearts, we feel a deep sense of satisfaction, as the path of abundance attracts ever more abundance to our lives. We realize that we have all we need. True wealth is not possessing the most, but having everything you need.

The hoarder will pluck every flower in the field, the minimalist will stop, enjoy them, water them and help them grow ever more plentiful.
