Week 30.2 - Why do you stay in prison when the door is so wide open

Give yourself the space tonight, to listen to your own voice and your own soul away from all the background noise of our hectic modern world.

“Why do you stay in prison when the door is so wide open. You were born with wings, why do you prefer to crawl through life?” – Rumi

We are held back in life not because of who we are, but who we think we are, who we have been told we are. Our self-beliefs develop during our maturity into adulthood. Maybe we were bullied, maybe our parents were not supportive or missing in action; may be teachers told you that you would amount to much.

We can become imprisoned by our beliefs. We allow the beliefs of others peoples opinions, to define us. Enslaved by this mental bondage, we do not realize the potential within each of us.

“Growth is painful. Change is painful. But nothing is as painful as staying stuck somewhere you don’t belong.”

“Getting stuck is not a problem. Staying stuck is. Good learners practice getting unstuck.” Change it up! Reorganize your routine. Go to bed earlier, get up earlier, drive a different way, eat different foods….“May you have courage this week to break patterns that no longer serve you.”

“We can spend so much of our vital energy futilely trying to make someone happy, who is not happy with themselves. Stop wasting your energy on emotionally bankrupt people, they do not need a life ring, they need to learn to swim. Consider the fact that maybe God closed that door, because you deserved more.”

“Know your worth. Don’t expect to see positive changes in your life if you surround yourself with negative people. Don’t give part-time people a full-time position in your life. Know your value and what you have to offer, and never settle for anything less than what you deserve.” MarcandAngel

“You have two choices, settle for what is comfortable or have the courage to grow into the unknown, you cannot have both.”

“If you’re thinking like everyone else, then you aren’t thinking.” MarcandAngel

“The secreting to living longer is to eat half, walk double, laugh triple and love without measure.” Tibetan Proverb

“The goal isn’t to get rid of all your negative thoughts, feelings, and life situations. That’s impossible. The goal is to change your response to them.” MarcandAngel

“It takes a strong soul with real heart to develop smiles out of situations that make us weep.” MarcandAngel

“Someday you will look back on your life and realize that everything worthwhile you’ve ever accomplished initially challenged you.” MarcandAngel

“We come from the earth, we return to the earth and in between we garden. Don’t ever save anything for a special occasion, being alive is a special occasion.”

“Never go in search of love, go in search of life, and life will find you the love you seek.” - Atticus

Happiness occurs when we stop complaining about all the problems we have and instead give thanks for all the problems we don’t have.”

"Life is very short... so break your silly ego, Forgive quickly, believe slowly, love truly, laugh loudly and never avoid anything that makes you smile."

“It’s funny how we outgrow what we once thought we couldn’t live without, and then we fall in love with what we didn’t even know we wanted. Life keeps leading us on journeys we would never go on if it were up to us. Don’t be afraid. Have faith. Find the lessons. Trust the journey.” MarcandAngel

“We waste our time waiting for the ideal path to appear. But it never does. Because we forget that paths are made by walking, not waiting. And no, you should not feel more confident before you take the next step. Taking the next step is what gradually builds your confidence.” MarcandAngel
