WEEK 17.1 (APRIL 26-MAY 2) – BECOMING THE SUPERHERO OF YOUR STORY
Mantra “I trust the wings within me.”
Topic 1 – Awakening the Superhero Seed
Short Reflection:
Within each of us lies a superhero — not in the form of magic powers, but in the quiet courage to meet life with honesty, compassion, and strength.
Like a seed resting in the dark soil, our potential waits patiently for the right moment.
Today, with mindful breath and gentle trust, we awaken the strength that has always lived within us.
Metaphor:
A seed buried in the dark earth does not yet know the sky. But it trusts the pull toward the warmth it senses.
Awakening is like that — believing in a light we have not yet seen.
Quotes:
“There is a superhero in all of us. We just need the courage to put on the cape.” — Superman
“Real transformation requires real honesty and transparency.” — David Scott
“Kindness for others begins with compassion for ourselves.”
“The seed does not rush the bloom. It trusts.”
Call to Action:
Today, visualize yourself not as a struggling being, but as a superhero quietly being born — rising from deep within.
Topic 2 – Battling the Inner Villains
Short Reflection:
Every hero faces challenges — and our greatest villains are often not outside of us, but within: fear, doubt, attachment to old identities.
Yoga teaches that no one else can save us.
Freedom comes when we recognize which battles to fight — and which to release.
If something is stealing your peace, maybe it’s too expensive to keep carrying.
Metaphor:
Think of old fears like shadows cast by a setting sun — they seem large, but fade as we turn toward the light.
What we fear often disappears when we stop running and gently face it.
Quotes:
“When you find no solution to a problem, it’s probably not a problem to be solved, but a truth to be accepted. Sometimes you have to just cut the knot — not everything is meant to be untied.” — David Scott
“If it’s taking away your peace, it’s too expensive.”
“The mind is a wonderful servant but a terrible master.” — Buddhist proverb
“Release the battle that no longer needs to be fought.”
Call to Action:
Identify one “villain” — one thought, one fear — that you’re ready to outgrow.
Name it. Smile at it. Release it.
Topic 3 – Transforming Through Struggle and Patience
Short Reflection:
Real transformation is not instant.
It is forged in patience, shaped through moments of discomfort and uncertainty — just as a sword is tempered through fire and water.
Trust the process.
Your struggles are not punishment — they are crafting your strength.
Metaphor:
Imagine a sword being made — hammered, heated, and cooled again and again.
Without the patience to endure both fire and water, the sword could never become strong enough to fulfill its purpose.
Quotes:
“The wings of transformation are formed from both patience and struggle.” — David Scott
“Sometimes good things fall apart, so better things can fall into place.”
“Faith is my sword. Truth is my shield. Knowledge my armor.” — David Scott
“Endurance is nobility.” — Buddhist teaching
Call to Action:
Celebrate your struggles today — they are forging the being you are becoming.
Topic 4 – Letting Go to Rise Higher
Short Reflection:
Growth often means surrender.
When we let go of what no longer fits — old fears, attachments, worn-out dreams — we create space for something lighter, stronger, freer.
Letting go isn’t losing.
It’s allowing.
Metaphor:
Picture an eagle molting its old feathers.
The process leaves it vulnerable for a time — but only by shedding the old can it renew its wings and soar higher than before.
Quotes:
“Nothing in nature clings to what has passed; it moves forward, trusting the next season.”
“When you let go of what you are, you become what you might be.” — Lao Tzu
“Sometimes we must let go not because we are weak, but because we are finally strong enough.”
“The old falls away not to punish you, but to prepare you.”
“To rise higher, we must be willing to be lighter.”
Call to Action:
Ask yourself with kindness: What am I holding onto that it’s time to lovingly release?
Topic 5 – Unfurling Your Wings: Living Fully Awakened
Short Reflection:
Awakening is not about striving to become someone different — it is the sacred act of remembering who we truly are.
Your wisdom, your compassion, your courage — they have always been there, folded quietly within you.
When you trust yourself enough to unfurl, you discover the sky was waiting for you all along.
Metaphor:
Imagine a bird who always had wings but kept them tucked tightly out of fear.
The sky was never closed to it.
It was only waiting for the bird to dare to open and trust the lift of the winds.
Quotes:
“You were born with wings. Why prefer to crawl through life?” — Rumi
“Your wings already exist. All you have to do is fly.”
“There is a force within that gives you life — seek that.” — Rumi
“Don’t shrink to fit places you’ve outgrown.”
“The moment you choose yourself, the sky opens.”
Call to Action:
Today, dare to fully unfurl — not halfway, not with hesitation, but with trust.
The sky has been waiting for you.
What step have you been postponing out of fear?
Today, begin.
“The wings of transformation are formed from both patience and struggle.” – David Scott
“Visualize yourself as a super hero in your life story. As Superman said, “There is a superhero in all of us. We just need the courage to put on the cape.” As we rise above the struggles we have all faced this past year and the fog of the pandemic slowly dissipates, we must position ourselves to emerge differently than we entered last year, so blinded by our fear.
Use the momentum of what shifted inside us to propel us into the bright future awaiting the human spirit. Conformity, from societal pressures, have obscured our untapped human potential like a vail. Use the wisdom you have gained; become the super hero of your life story, rising above the easy path of mediocrity.
Every super hero battles evil villains and confronts seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Many of our villains and obstacles are just simply illusions of self we carry deep within ourselves. Yoga teaches us that no one is coming to save us; we have to save ourselves. Inside each of us lies the seed of a super hero, just waiting to emerge, like the seed of a powerful tree, lying just below the surface in the soil; waiting for the sunshine of the Spring (our awareness) to give it strength to emerge and blossom.” – David Scott
“Breathing in, I know I’m breathing in. Breathing out, I know As the in-breath grows deep, The out-breath grows slow. Breathing in makes me calm. Breathing out makes me ease. With the in-breath, I smile. With the out-breath, I release. Breathing in, there is only the present moment. Breathing out, it is a wonderful moment.” Thich Nhat Hanh
“Sometimes good things fall apart, so better things can fall in their place.”
“Accept what is, Let go of what was and have faith in what will be.”
“Real transformation requires real honesty and transparency. If you want to move forward, start by first shinning the light of awareness inward.” – David Scott
“Heroes are made by the path they choose, not the powers they are graced with.” Iron Man (Marvel Comic)
“if you are thinking about, planning, worrying or fearing something too much in your priceless quiet moments, then maybe it is time to let go of it. If it is taking away your peace, then maybe it is just too expensive and not meant for you.” – David Scott
“Why do we fall? So we can learn to pick ourselves back up.” – Batman
“Sometimes you have to just cut the knot because not all things are meant to be untied.”
It is so empowering to say, this isn’t serving me and walk away in peace.
Tell the superhero in you, ““Faith is my sword. Truth is my shield. Knowledge my armor.”
Sometimes we have to just stand back and let life happen. Don’t hold together what must fall apart. The familiar fades away to create space for the new.
“When you find no solution to a problem, it’s probably not a problem to be solved, but instead a truth to be accepted.”
“Maturity is learning to walk away from people and situations that threaten your inner peace of mind, self-respect and self-worth.”
“I have no idea where I’m going to be tomorrow but I accept the fact that tomorrow will come and I’m going to rise to meet it.” Donna Tray
Kindness for others begins with compassion for ourselves.

Climb your mountain so you can see the world, not so that the world can see you better.
You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control your attitude toward what happens to you, and in that, you will be mastering change rather than allowing it to master you. Brian Tracy

“Change can be hard. It requires no extra effort to settle for the same old thing. Auto-pilot keeps us locked into past patterns. But transforming your life? That requires courage, commitment, and effort. It’s tempting to stay camped in the zone of That’s-Just-How-It-Is. But to get to the really good stuff in life, you have to be willing to become an explorer and adventurer.” – John Mark Green
