WEEK 33.1 – (AUGUST 16-AUGUST 22) LIFE IS AMAZING
“Life is like a journey down a river. As you navigate the waters, be mindful of who shares your boat. Notice who rows with you, who brings calm to the waves, and who steers with the strength of love. Just as the river’s current can carry you far, so too can the energy of those around you. Surround yourself with those who uplift your spirit, and you’ll find your journey flows with greater ease and joy.”
Life is amazing. Then it’s awful. And then it’s amazing again. And in-between the amazing and awful it’s ordinary and mundane and routine. Breathe in the amazing, hold on through the awful, and relax and exhale during the ordinary.
From ― Melody Beattie, Journey to the Heart: Daily Meditations on the Path to Freeing Your Soul
“Stop picking on yourself, worrying if you’re good enough, wondering what people will see if you let them see your heart. This is what they’ll see: that you are a lovable and delightful soul, a beautiful child of God.”
Michelangelo said that god put a statue inside each slab of marble and it was simply his job to set the statue free; may you strip away all the excess to discover the work of art placed within by your loving God.
“She was unstoppable not because she did not have failures or doubts but because she continued on despite them.” Beau Taplin
“She made broken look beautiful and strong look invincible. She walked with the Universe on her shoulders and made it look like a pair of wings.”― Ariana Dancu
“The greater the obstacle, to more joy is attained by overcoming it.”
“Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck.” Dalai Lama
“People treat you the way you teach them to treat you.” – Jack Canfield
“Anything that annoys you is for teaching you patience. Anyone who abandons you is for teaching you how to stand up on your own two feet. Anything that angers you is for teaching you forgiveness and compassion. Anything that has power over you is for teaching you how to take your power back. Anything you hate is for teaching you unconditional love. Anything you fear is for teaching you courage to overcome your fear. Anything you can’t control is for teaching you how to let go and trust the Universe”
― Jackson Kiddard
To be a star, you must shine your own light, follow your own path, and don’t worry about the darkness, for that is when the stars shine brightest.” ~ Unkown
Learning is a gift even when pain is your teacher. “Nothing ever goes away until it has taught us what we need to know.” – Pema Chödrön
There is no better happiness, than freedom from worry. There is no greater wealth than contentment.
People are like stained glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light within. May the light inside you illuminate your path
“Though no one can go back and make a brand-new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand-new ending.” —Carl Bard
St. Theresa: May today there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others. May you use the gifts you have received and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your spirit the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and everyone of us.
The Buddha and the Band of Monkeys
One day, while traveling through a forest with his disciples, the Buddha encountered a group of monkeys. The monkeys were playing near a river, their actions chaotic and full of mischief. The Buddha watched them for a moment, then turned to his disciples and said, “Do you see how the monkeys behave? They leap from tree to tree, never resting, never still. They do not choose their companions wisely, and so their lives are filled with chaos and unrest.”
He then pointed to a lone monkey sitting quietly by the river, contentedly eating a fruit. “Look at this one,” the Buddha continued. “It has chosen to distance itself from the chaos. It sits in peace, enjoying the simple pleasures of life, because it has chosen its company wisely—even if it means being alone.”
The Buddha concluded, “In your journey through life, choose your companions carefully. Those who bring love, peace, and wisdom into your life will help you find tranquility, just as the lone monkey has found peace by the river.”
This story can serve as a reminder that the company we keep has a profound impact on our inner peace and overall well-being.
