WEEK 39.1 (SEPT 27-OCT 3) CLIMB YOUR MOUNTAIN, SO YOU CAN SEE THE WORLD BETTER, NOT SO OTHERS CAN SEE YOU
Topic 2 – “The Light Within”
“When you love yourself, you become like a lantern glowing in the darkness. The brighter your inner light, the more you naturally attract those who are drawn to its warmth. It’s not about seeking external validation, but rather radiating from the inside out. Just as a flame doesn’t need to search for those who are cold, your self-love draws in respect and appreciation effortlessly. Everything begins with how you see and value yourself. Feel worthy, feel deserving, and know that the world will reflect that energy back to you.” – David Scott
“As you walk and eat and travel, be where you are. Otherwise, you will miss most of your life.” — Buddha
“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.” — Buddha
“When you realize how perfect everything is, you will tilt your head back and laugh at the sky.” — Buddha
“What lies behind us and what lies ahead of us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson
“Your love and happiness are like the roots of a tree. Though unseen, they give you strength, stability, and nourishment. You can’t force the branches to grow by pulling on them. But when you tend to the roots with care, the tree flourishes naturally, reaching toward the sky.”
“A man spent his entire life searching for a light, believing it was just out of reach—always around the next corner or over the next hill, like a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. No matter how hard he tried, the light he sought seemed to slip through his fingers, remaining forever elusive. It was only at the end of his life that he realized the truth: the light he had been chasing wasn’t out there in the distance—it had been within him all along.” – David Scott
Topic Three – Self Acceptance
“As humans, we often carry the weight of our flaws and mistakes, believing that if we just perfect ourselves, everything will fall into place. Beating yourself up for your flaws won’t make you perfect, and you don’t have to be. In Buddhism, we are reminded that suffering is a natural part of life—but how we respond to it is what matters. Learn from your mistakes, forgive yourself, and move forward with compassion for yourself. Its ok not to be ok all of the time.
It is so powerful to be able to stand tall and say, ‘I fell apart, and I survived.’ You see, when you stop worrying about what others think and start embracing yourself as you are—quirks, flaws, and all—you open the door to real freedom. You get to dance, sing, create, and just be. Some people won’t like you, but it won’t matter because you’ll be grounded in the truth of who you are.
‘Stop allowing people who do so little for you to consume your emotions. There’s only one you, and you’re perfect at being you. Buddhism teaches us to embrace our true nature without judgment. So instead of trying to fix everything you think is wrong, start appreciating everything that makes you unique and beautiful—not in spite of your flaws, but because of them.” – David Scott
“The wound is the place where the light enters you.” — Rumi
“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.” — Rumi
“You are imperfect, permanently and inevitably flawed. And you are beautiful.” — Amy Bloom
“Let go of who you think you’re supposed to be; embrace who you are.” — Brené Brown
“Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.”
“It’s okay to not be okay all the time.”
“Sometimes good things fall apart, so better things can fall in their place.”
“If you don’t have time for what matters, stop making time for what does not.”
Live your life like it is an adventure no one is watching. Explore, Dance, Live, Laugh and Love. For this is the oldest you have even been and the youngest you will ever be again.
“Pain is passed down in families, until finally someone is finally ready to feel and heal it.” – David Scott
“Accept what is, Let go of what was and have faith in what will be.”
“Life is so much simpler, when you stop trying to explain yourself to others and just live your own life.”
“Once I gave up expecting rain in the desert, I found bliss.”
“A caterpillar must endure a season of isolation before it turns into a butterfly. Embrace the time you have alone, it will only make you stronger.” ~Steven Aitchison
“To get over the past you first have to accept that the past is over. No matter how many times you revisit it, analyze it, sweat it, or regret it, it’s over. The past can hurt you no more.” ~Mandy Hale
“These pains you feel are messengers. Listen to them.” – Rumi
“There is a voice that doesn’t use words, listen.” – Rumi
“The message behind the words is the voice of the heart.” – Rumi
“Love is the bridge between you and everything.” – Rumi
“We carry inside us the wonders we seek outside us.” – Rumi
“Your heart knows the way. Run in that direction.” – Rumi
“What you seek is seeking you.” – Rumi
“Be thankful for what you don’t have, because it gives you something to strive for. Be thankful for what you don’t know, because it gives you the chance to learn. Be grateful for challenges—they build your strength and character. Mistakes teach you valuable lessons, and even when you’re tired, it means you’ve made a difference. True fulfillment comes when we’re grateful not just for the good, but for the setbacks too. Gratitude turns obstacles into blessings.” – David Scott
